On May 15-16, 2008 at the basis of Separated structural subdivision of NAU «Zalischyky Agricultural College named after E. Khraplyvyi» the All-Ukrainian scientific-practical conference «Development and safety of Ukrainian village is a primary need of nowadays» devoted to the 110-anniversary from the date of birth of Eugen Khraplyvyi and the 110-anniversary of National Agricultural University was held.
Conference's sections:

1. New approaches in agronomy development — social agronomy.
2. Agricultural business and problems of its development.
3. Ecology of environment and safety of food.
4. Social and humanitarian aspects of Ukrainian village development: history and nowadays.

May 9^th is a day of legendary victory over fascism during the Second World War and Memory Day about died fighters. This Day of Great Victory is celebrated by not only veterans of Great Patriotic War, but also and by their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
Victory Day is a holiday in honour of those, who granted to us peace on this Earth! Holiday of May 9^th became blessed for all of us. We remember about past and appreciate to seniors for Great Victory, paid with millions lives, tears of natives. Thanks to dies and livings. Thanks and kowtow for all our veterans and workers of back land.

On April 22, 2008 at 10 ⁰⁰ (room 326, building 11) the Department of Automation of Agricultural Production of the Technical ERI of NAU carried out the scientific-practical conference for staff.

On April 22, 2008 at 16 ⁰⁰ (concert hall, building 3) the jubilee concert of the vocal band «Oktava» devoted to the 10-anniversary of creation was held.

On April 18, 2008 on the basis of Faculty of Law of ERI of Land Resources and Law of NAU the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference of young scientists «ACTUAL PROBLEMS OF LEGAL SUPPORT OF NATIONAL FOODSTUFF SAFETY AND STABLE DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURE IN UKRAINE» was held. The collection of thesis and reports was published.

The conference worked on such directions:

1. Theoretical-historic and constitutional problems of legal support of national foodstuff safety and stable development of agriculture in Ukraine.
2. Agrarian-legal, ecological-legal and problems of labour law in support of national foodstuff safety and stable development of agriculture in Ukraine.
3. Legal support of rational using and protection of land resources.
4. Civil-legal and economic-legal problems of support of national foodstuff safety and stable development of agriculture in Ukraine.
5. Administrative-legal problems of support of national foodstuff safety and stable development of agriculture in Ukraine.
6. Criminal problems of support of national foodstuff safety and stable development of agriculture in Ukraine.

April 10-12, 2008 the International Conference «The Organic Sector Development in Central, Eastern European and Central Asian countries» was held at the National Agricultural University.
Main topics of the conference:

1. Various approaches and experiences of organic sector development.
2. Regulatory frameworks for the organic sector like international policy setting/organic regulations, national organic laws and organic action plans.
3. Impact of existing international organic regulations on organic sector development in the East (consequences of the revision of the EU regulation, certification).

1. Different approaches to Organic Sector Development — action plans.
2. Development of the Organic Farming — examples from different countries.
3. Development of the Organic Market — local markets.
4. Development of the Organic Market — processing and export.
5. Organic certification.

On March 24-31, 2008 the Structural subdivision of NAU «Boyarka College of Ecology and Natural Resources» with the aim to find out and select the talented rural youth, professional orientation of graduates from schools, colleges, lyceums, gymnasiums and vocational schools, carried out the creative allcomers for enrollees on two disciplines in accordance with chosen specialties:

1. Organization of Production (Agricultural Management) — Mathematics, Ukrainian language.
2. Land Management — Mathematics, Ukrainian language.
3. Applied Ecology — Chemical, Ukrainian language.
4. Industrial flower gardening — Biology, Ukrainian language.
5. Green Construction And Park-Gardening — Biology, Ukrainian language.
6. Forestry — Biology, Ukrainian language.

On March 24-28, 2008 at the basis of National Agricultural University the International seminar-training on using of information resources of FAO AGORA for scientific, educational and innovative activity was held.

On March 21, 2008 the ERI of Forestry and Park-Gardening of NAU together with Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Studies and Program on Private Forests of Global Institute of Sustainable Forestry of Yale University carried out the International Scientific-Practical Conference «Potential for increasing of forest-land percentage in Ukraine by the way of forest-growing on private lands» with the participation of State Committee of Forestry of Ukraine, State Committee of Land Resources of Ukraine, Ministry of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine and other interested establishments and organizations.
The following questions were discussed:

1. Current forest and land policy according to forest-growing on private lands and forestry in Ukraine.
2. Experience on private forestry abroad.
3. Scientific support of forest-growing on private lands.

On February 28–29, 2008 the International Scientific Students Conference devoted to 110-anniversary of National Agricultural University was carried out by the ERI of Plant Sciences and Soil Sciences, the RI of Agrotechnologies and Quality of Plant Production.
Aim of the conference: exchange with scientific-and-practical information and summery results of scientific researches on problems of development of innovation elements of production technologies of high-quality and ecologically safety plant production.
We invite students, teachers and scientists of NAU, NAU’s branches, and other agricultural establishments from Ukraine and abroad to take part in such sections:

1. Agronomy.
2. Plant Protection.
3. Horticulture and Viticulture.
4. Agrochemistry and Soil Science.
5. Organic and colloid chemistry (with English section).

On February 27-29, 2008 National Agricultural University took part in the XI^th International Exhibition of educational establishments «Modern education in Ukraine — 2008».

On February 21, 2008 at 4 p.m. (concert hall, building #3) the Department of Culture carried out concert of classic music.

On January 31, 2008 (Kyiv, Ukraine) at the basis of Ukrainian Laboratory of Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products of National Agricultural University the International scientific-practical seminar «The aspects of CIS countries markets for import of breeding stock’s embryos» was held.

Program of seminar.

On January 31, 2008 The Second Ukrainian-German forum on bioenergetics was held. It will be organized by Association «Ukrainian Agribusiness Club», National Agricultural University of Ukraine together with the Project «German-Ukrainian agrarian dialog» by the Institute of Economical Research and Political Consultations and others.
During the Forum the following questions were discussed:

• political goals and problems of formation of biofuels market in Ukraine;
• production of bioethanol — state and perspectives;
• possibilities of using Kyoto Protocol mechanisms for financing of agricultural projects on biomasses, etc.

On January 30, 2008 in the framework of exhibition «InterAgro 2008» The Second Ukrainian-German agribusiness forum «Business climate in Ukraine» was held. It was organized by Association «Ukrainian Agribusiness Club», National Agricultural University of Ukraine and others.
The following questions were discussed:

• structural changes which happened on agricultural enterprises in the last years;
• predicted estimations of business development;
• horizontal and vertical integration of agricultural enterprises;
• conducting of effective business in agricultural sector.

For participation in Forum were invited: the Minister of agricultural policy of Ukraine Melnik Yuriy Fedorovych, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Reinhard Schaefers, Head of the committee for agrarian policy and land issues Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, Federal Ministry of Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture Gunter Beger.
