General provisions
The preparation of master degree in National Agricultural University of Ukraine is carried out according to the Law of Ukraine ¹ 2984 "About higher education" adopted on 17.01.02, on the basis of Statute about educational and qualifying levels (EQL), authorized by Decision ¹ 65 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from January 20, 1998, named "Statute of grade system of education in National Agricultural University" and "Statute of Preparation of Magistrates in National Agricultural University".
As the Law of Ukraine on Higher Education states, a master is a separate educational and qualifying level of higher education that can be obtained on the basis of an educational and qualifying level (EQL) of "Bachelor" or "Specialist" to get complete higher education, special knowledge and skills that are satisfactory for fulfilling duties and responsibilities including innovative implementations at a certain level in a particular field of activity.
In National Agricultural University the created system for integrated gradual education and training gives the possibility to the students with EQL "Master" to extend their knowledge in law, economics, political sciences and business administration, social sciences and the arts, psychology and pedagogics. Normative and legislative, organization and managerial, consulting activities of governing bodies are impossible without deep and profound knowledge in these sciences.
Some subjects are taught in foreign languages, in particular in English, a language of international business.
Those who take master courses can have their probations in governmental bodies both in Ukraine and abroad. National Agricultural University of Ukraine participates in the development of different international projects and programs together with the prominent higher educational establishments of Europe and the USA.
The citizens of Ukraine which has finished the accredited by Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine higher educational institutions of III–IV levels and have received a educational and qualifying level (EQL) of "Bachelor", "Specialist" with an average grade, but not lower then it was determined by rules of adoption to National Agricultural University are enlisted magistrates.
The preparation of master degree students from the citizens of Ukraine is carried out on the basis of government budget or on the basis of the contracts with the physical and legal persons.
The preparation of the specified experts on number of the citizens of foreign countries is carried out only on the basis of the contracts with the physical and legal persons.

Term of training
Term of training in magistrates on the full-time basis is determined by the received educational and qualifying level and makes up: for the persons, which have a educational and qualifying level of "Specialist" — 1 year, for the persons, who have a educational and qualifying level of "Bachelor" — 1,5 years.
Master’s program at National Agricultural University combines 2 schemes (5+1) and (4+1.5). Generalized curriculum scheme for the specialists is introduced in the table. Master’s program at National Agricultural University takes 2 semesters (scheme 5+1) and 3-4 semesters (scheme 4+1.5).

Specialties
Adoptions to magistrates’ courses are carried out on such specialties:
agronomics; agrochemistry and soil; ecology and protection of an environment; fruit, vegetable and vine-growing; protection of plants; zooinginering; wood facilities (economy); garden-park facilities (economy) and landscape architecture; mechanization of an agriculture; machine and equipment; power of agricultural manufacture; management of organizations; management of foreign economic activity (FEA); economy of the enterprise; economic cybernetics; account and audit; finance; veterinary medicine; organization of the use of land and cadastre; administrative management; quality, standardization and certification; state administration etc.
Educational activity
Scientific and methodical support for students is provided by educational and scientific centers and includes: theoretical and practical master’s course, training within Ukraine and abroad, state examinations and master’s thesis defense, and consist of: -
organizational and methodical support for learning general scientific (specific) disciplines (work curriculum) according to educational programs for graduate students and world standards requirements;

practical training, including training abroad in order to build up certain political, scientific, economic and social outlook, ability to analyze processes and tendencies, pattern and research phenomena, determine objective laws through systems analysis;

organizing self-work and providing individual tasks, mainly in macroeconomic and global aspect;
-
applying modular-rating system to control student’s knowledge;
-
creating and developing scientific methodical, monographic, laboratory base for departments and educational research centers;
-
preparing educational manuals and text-books according to work curriculum;
organizing scientific, methodological and methodical conferences, seminars for students and university teaching staff, inviting representatives of foreign universities.
Research work
Student’s research work becomes possible due to university research institutes base and is conducted in order to study modern scientific advances in different fields, examine techniques and methods of scientific research via information systems, and apply experience gained by teaching staff as well as graduate students in personal research of events, phenomena, tendencies in terms of: -
creating and developing personal monographic, computer base for providing complex scientific research according to programs and master’s course;
-
organizing personal and cooperative scientific research both in National Agricultural University and abroad together with Ukrainian and foreign scientists;
-
training scientific manpower through master’s program with following post-graduate school;
-
facilitating master’s students taking part in international conferences abroad and organizing similar events in National Agricultural University.
For reception of EQL "Master" degree the students of magistrates should finish the training by preparation and defence of master degree dissertation. The requirements to these dissertations are regulated by the "Temporary Statute of Preparation and Defense of Master Degree Dissertation".
