The Southern Branch «Crimean Agrotechnological University» (CAU) includes such Faculties:

History
In 1922 the Council on Higher Educational Establishments of Administration of Professional Education of Russian Socialistic Federative Soviet Republic decided to establish at the basis of Agronomic Faculty of Crimean University the Crimean Agricultural Institute of Special Fields.
In 1923 Crimean University the Crimean Agricultural Institute of Special Fields was renamed to Institute of Special Cultures.
In 1925 accordingly to the decision of Council of Peoples' Commissars of Russian Socialistic Federative Soviet Republic the Crimean Institute of Special Cultures became the part of Cuban Agricultural Institute.
In 1931 accordingly to the resolution of Council of Peoples' Commissars of Russian Socialistic Federative Soviet Republic ¹ 697 the Crimean Institute of Special Cultures named after M.I. Kalinin was reorganized.
In 1935 Institute was renamed in Crimean Agricultural Institute named after M.I. Kalinin.
In 1941 Crimean Agricultural Institute named after M.I. Kalinin was evacuated to Kirovobad, to Azarbaidzhan Agricultural Institute.
In 1944 Crimean Agricultural Institute named after M.I. Kalinin came back from the evacuation to its basis in Simferopol.
In 1965 Crimean Agricultural Institute named after M.I. Kalinin moved to the new place at the territory of training and research farm «Komunar».
In 1981 Institute recieved the order «Znak poshany» and was named as Crimean of order «Znak poshany» Agricultural Institute named after M.I. Kalinin.
In 1994 accordingly to the order of Ministry of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine ¹ 255/131 the training, research and production complex that included 10 educational establishments of I-II accreditation levels of Donetsk, Zaporizhya, Herson regions and ARC, 24 scientific institutes and 4 productive enterprises of ARC, was created at the bases of Crimean of order «Znak poshany» Agricultural Institute named after M.I. Kalinin.
In 1995 Crimean of order «Znak poshany» Agricultural Institute named after M.I. Kalinin was accreditated with the IV level.
In 1997 acordingly to the resolution of Cabinet of Ministeres of Ukraine #313 the Institute was reorganized in Crimean State Agricultural University.
In 2003 acordingly to the resolution of Cabinet of Ministeres of Ukraine #179-p. the University was reorganized in Crimean State Agrotechnological University.
In 2004 acordingly to the resolution of Cabinet of Ministeres of Ukraine #517-p. the University was reorganized into Southern branch «Crimean Agrotechnological University» of National Agricultural University of Ukraine.
40 departments and their 23 branches in agricultural and industrial enterprises, organizations, scientific and research establishments function at the 7 Faculties of University. The training of students for obtaining simultaneously the second education by specialties «Economics of Enterprises», «Accounting and Audit» is organized at the University. The term of studies is shorted by means of not passing disciplines that were learned within training by the first specialty.
Graduates of the University of I and II accreditation levels can study by the shorted form and receive diplomas by specialties «Scientist-Agronomist», «Engineer-Mechanic», «Economist in Accounting», «Economist of Enterprise», «Manager-Economist» in 3 years, «Doctor of Veterinary Medicine» in 3,9 study years.
Accordingly to the resolution of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine #868 of 1.07.2002 and joint order # 06/07 of 20.06.2003 of Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine the training of reserve officers was organized at the University.
Such forms of lessons are being performed at the preparatory department for those applicants who want to systematize the knowledge and to deepen the preparation in order to pass the entrance exams successfully:
- full-time training during 8 months for those persons who have the full secondary education;
- long-term full-time correspondence courses for pupils of 11-th form. The lessons take place during holidays and weekends;
- short-term full-time courses, organized for applicants before entrance exams.
1023 collaborators work at the University. 297 lecturers provide the training process; among them are 41 Doctors of sciences, Professor, 155 PhDs, Associate professors, 24 honored workers of science and technique, honored workers of education, 18 Academicians and Correspondent-members of different academies of science.
The Master programs Department functions for 9 specialties, PhD Department for 24 specialties and Department for Doctors preparation for 3 specialties; 3 specialized scientific councils that give scientific degrees of PhD for such specialties work at the University: 05.05.11 151 Machines and Devices for Agricultural Production Mechanization, 08.07.02 151 Economics of Agriculture and Agriindustrial complex; specialized sonnet for PhD and Doctor dissertations defense 06.01.09 151 Plant Science, 06.01.14 Seed-growing Science.
The main directions of University’s activity are: training of specialists in the fields of agriculture and forestry; retraining and qualification raising of leaders and specialists of agriindustrial complex, state officers and heads of state enterprises, organizations and institutions of agricultural sphere; organization of researches, research and construction activities; coordination of activity of organizations, institutions and enterprises as well as other structures in the field of scientific researches, education and production work in the system of agro-industrial complex of ARC and southern part of Ukraine; organization of abroad internship for students and collaborators of the University; informative, scientific and consulting servicing of subjects of economic activity in the sphere of agro-industrial complex; business undertakings; training of students by the programs of reserve officers; foreign affairs etc.

Scientific activity
Scientific and research center functions in the Southern Branch «Crimean Agrotechnological University» of NAUU. It includes:
- Problematic laboratory on morphology and physiology of young productive animals;
- Problematic laboratory of sorgo;
- Research field;
- Scientific station of mountain horticulture and sub tropic cultures «Phoros»;
- Plot of vegetable and fruit cultures;
- Collection plot of grape;
- 21 educational and research laboratories;
- informative and consulting center.
University carries out the scientific and research, scientific and methodical work by such directions:
- broadening and deepening of complex, theoretical and applied researches, aimed at the more full utilization by agricultural production the bio climatic potential of Crimea and South of Ukraine;
- scientific provision of agro-industrial fields aimed at the increasing of production and improving of agricultural products quality;
- working out the adaptive resources-saving and ecology-providing technologies of agricultural crops growing, keeping the animals in Crimea and in the southern part of Ukraine;
- scientific provision of the process of economy reformation in the sphere of agro-industrial complex under conditions of market relations;
- development of measures for Crimean recreation potential raising by means of using the new structure of sowing squares and ecology saving technologies;
- creation and implementation of high productive sorts and hybrids of agricultural plants, animal breeds, examples of technological equipment;
- development and implementation of economic wasting, energy saving technologies of agricultural materials processing;
- investigation of problems of higher agrarian education and development of ways of their solution.

The education fees for full-time form 2400-3100 UAH in a year, correspondent 1500-2200 hrivnas in a year, depending on qualification level and specialty.
