National Agricultural University includes 11 Higher Education Institutes of ²-²²² accreditation levels. In 1998 the Department for working with Higher education institutes of ²-²²² accreditation levels was created at NAU for coordination of their educational activity.
Main tasks of the Department are:
- realization of education graded system by the directions and specialties of specialist training at NAU by the educational and qualifying levels from «Junior specialist» to «Master»;
- approval of education content for directions and specialties of specialist training at Higher education institutes of ²-²²² accreditation levels with appropriate curricula of training specialists at university;
- providing Higher education institutes of ²-²²² accreditation levels of NAU with necessary normative educational documentation;
- to assist in the training for Higher education institutes of ²-²²² accreditation levels of NAU of pedagogical, research and pedagogical staff with higher qualification – Masters, Candidates of Science, Doctors of Science, giving the academic degrees to staff of these institutes;
- organization of probation, raising the level of skills, retraining and attestation of pedagogical staff, setting the qualification categories and giving pedagogical degrees for them;
- providing with methodological aim for writing and preparing for publishing textbooks, manuals, methodical books;
- organizational and methodical assistance for determination of perspective directions in specialist training, licensing and accreditation of new specialties, forming of state order;
- to select the best students for studying by the program of training specialists with educational and qualifying level «Bachelor», «Specialist», «Master» at university;
- improvement of structure of Higher education institutes of ²-²²² a.l. of NAU, creation of new subdivisions, liquidation and reorganization of present education subdivisions;
- evaluation of specialist training level of certain educational and qualifying levels at Higher education institutes of ²-²²² accreditation levels of NAU.
The enlightenment activity is realized though close cooperation among Higher education institutes of ²-²²² accreditation levels and education and research institutes, research institutes, faculties, studies office, education and research centers, Ukrainian laboratory of quality and safety of agricultural products, research farms and stations of NAU.
Since department came to the structure of Higher education institutes of ²-²²² accreditation levels of NAU there are some changes. In 2001 Nizhyn and Berezhany colleges received status of institute. In 1999 Irpin and Nemishaevo technical schools, in 2001 Zhalishchyky technical school, and in 2004 Boyarka technical school received status of college. In 2004 the Southen branch «Crimean Agrotechnological University», one college and 3 technical schools of Crimea entered into the structure of NAU, in 2005 Bobrovytsya agro-economic technical school entered into the structure of NAU. In the same time Prybrezhnensky technical school received status of college.
During 2005-2006 according to the Law of Ukraine «About higher education» Higher education institutes of ²-²²² accreditation levels were reformed into separated structural subdivisions of NAU.
In different years the Department was headed by Vice-rector for working with Higher education institutes of ²-²²² accreditation levels, Doctor of Agricultural Science, Professor P.I. Lakyda (1998-2002), Deputy Vice-rector for education and educational work on questions of activity of Higher education institutes of ²-²²² accreditation levels, PhD in Engineering, Associate Professor B.M. Reshetyuk (2002-2005) and PhD in Veterinary Medicine V.B. Danilov (2005-2006).
